It’s hard to believe, at the end of the group stage, that Ivory Coast would be two games away from a third continental title a week later. Emerse Faé’s men are opposed this Wednesday, February 7 to the Democratic Republic of Congo in Abidjan, in the semi-final of “their” CAN 2024. However, their journey was not easy, with a victory on penalties in the round of 16 against Sadio Mané’s Senegal (1-1, 5-4 tab), favorite of the competition, before a spectacular qualification at the end of extra time against Mali (2-1) in the quarter.
Opposite, the Democratic Republic of Congo did not have a much smoother journey, with a victory against Egypt after an interminable penalty shootout (1-1, 8-7 tab) , before defeating Guinea without trembling (3-1).
