The negotiating committee of the Union of Professionals of Laval–Rive-Nord, SPPLRN-SCFP 5222 affiliated with the FTQ, has reached an agreement with the Employer Negotiating Committee of the French-speaking School Service Centers regarding sectoral issues.

Following the agreement reached shortly after 1 a.m., the FTQ thus completed all of its negotiations at the sectoral tables.

These hypotheses of agreement in principle, which must be ratified by the union authorities, will then be sent to the members so that they can decide on the agreement.

The SPPLRN-SCFP represents 1,000 professionals in the education network working in the Laurentides, Lanaudière and Laval regions.

The risk of an unlimited general strike that hangs over Common Front union members is attributable to the negotiations taking place at the central table regarding salary issues.

These negotiations resumed on Boxing Day, after a short break of just 48 hours.

For its part, the Autonomous Federation of Education (FAE), which represents more than 65,000 teachers, continued its talks with the employer side until 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, then resumed them again during the day .

The Interprofessional Health Federation of Quebec (FIQ) also continues to negotiate with the government in the company of a conciliator.

These two unions, unlike the Common Front, each negotiate all their issues at a single table, including salary and sectoral working conditions.
