On a catastrophic series in Ligue 2, with an absence of victories for eight games and a disappointment
memorable in Niort in the last moments, the DFCO wants to redo in the Coupe de France. For their entry into the competition, the “Reds” inherited a trip to fans of Saint-Pryvé Saint-Hilaire, a Loiret club which plays in National 2 (the 4th division). Kick-off at 4 p.m., Saturday October 29, 2022.
Two injured, Ngouyamsa on the return
Two wounded come to join Christopher Rocchia in the infirmary: Cheick Traore and Lucas Deaux. For the first, “He felt discomfort at half-time, in Niort, and since the return from Niort he has been in the infirmary”, informs his coach, Omar Daf, in a pre-match press conference. For Lucas Deaux, he suffers from a shock received on the foot.
In the sense of returns, the DFCO should be able to count on their defender Ahmad Ngouyamsaback from injury. “He played last weekend, half time with the reserves”says his coach.
Saturnin Allagbé will start
This is often the practice for this Coupe de France: leave the starting goalkeeper at rest and let his lining play. This will be the case for the DFCO, Saturnin Allagbé, described as exemplary on a daily basis by his coach Omar Daf, will keep the goal.
In the same vein, some coaches like to take advantage of the Coupe de France to “rotate”, to give playing time to those who have less. Not sure if that’s the case this weekend. “In general yes, but in our situation we also need this victory, we will field a very competitive team”answers Omar Daf.
The Dijon coach who still leaves the door open, especially for the young Yanis Chahid. He was part of the trip to Niort, but remained in the stands, as the 19th man: “He has been with us almost from the start, he finds himself in a position where there is a lot of competition. He is a boy who is making a lot of progress, session after session. For Saturday, there are boys who have more experience, who are also lacking playing time, but I think it’s a boy who will be part of the group and we will see according to the face of the match”.
Xande Silva suspended
Portuguese winger Xande Silva, who arrived in Dijon this summer, will not discover the Coupe de France. He received a red card for an uncontrolled tackle against Niortand was sanctioned
by the Disciplinary Committee three-game suspension (including one suspended).
“I’m still angry about that, he has a gesture that is not mastered, he blames himself”, describes Omar Daf. The Dijon coach who regretted the severity of the disciplinary committee: “What is frustrating is that he is sanctioned so severely. For me it is very hard for him to get away with a three-game suspension”.
