Followed by more than a million subscribers on TikTok, the dwarf influencer Douchka Volaric was the guest of Léa Salamé and Christophe Dechavanne in
What era
this Saturday on France 2. The videographer who proudly accepts her dwarfism openly criticized the program Fort Boyard, in which dwarf personalities have participated for more than thirty years, such as André Bouchet (Passe-Partout) and Anthony Laborde (Passe-Muraille) and until 2009 Alain Prévost (Pastime). But for Douchka Volaric, the exploitation of the dwarves in Fort Boyard caused her some problems, and earned her nicknames that she would have been happy to avoid.
“Fort Boyard, yes, (that bothers me). I don’t want to have stories, but to use small people, who cannot speak, and where we will zoom in on their legs and their way of running… I think they are happy (to do it), but me, thanks or because of this program, they call me Passe-Partout“ regrets the young woman. If Douchka Volaric assumes “proudly” her disability and her difference, she remains no less bothered by the image conveyed by the successful France 2 show, which has been broadcast every summer for more than thirty years.
On the other hand, Douchka Volaric wanted to pay tribute to the actress Mimie Mathy, who has played the role of
Joséphine, guardian angel
on TF1: “I admire him”. Revealed by Michel Fugain and Philippe Bouvard, Mimie Mathy (who does not suffer from dwarfism but from achondroplasia) has moved the lines according to the TikToker, who believes that the view of short people has evolved thanks to her : “Mom bought me all her books, I have them all” she explained. If Douchka is particularly admiring of the fight led by Mimie Mathy, she nonetheless remains critical of the Fort Boyard production, which she sharply criticizes for using small people to make people laugh.
Passe-Muraille and Passe-Temps worried about their future
Asked about the question a few months ago, André Bouchet and Anthony Laborde said they were very happy and well treated at Fort BoyardAnd feared being excluded by production because of associations and viewers who speak in their names: “Without my disability, I would never have had this life. It was my strength, and ultimately an opportunity (…) But if these right-thinking people succeeded in getting the tigers fired, they risk having the skin of dwarves. We laugh about it among ourselves, but we’re a little worried. If they hide us, we’re no longer useful.” lamented the two protagonists of the show, who should however return to the Fort this summer, for a new round of new content.
