Friday January 12, a bus was lying on the rails, lying on its side, in Levens (Alpes-Maritimes). Inside, the driver and his two passengers, aged 14, were quickly rescued. Seriously injured, they were transferred to a city hospital. “The driver, for an undetermined reason, hit the right roadway while going uphill, and after hitting a rock, found himself changing direction and falling approximately ten meters below”indicates the operations commander at the SDIS des Alpes-Maritimes.
Previously arrested for drunk driving
Fortunately, only three people were on board. Immediately after the accident, the 31-year-old driver tested positive for cannabis and cocaine. He had previously been arrested for drunk driving. Friday evening, the transport authority rejected all responsibility on its subcontractor in charge of the line and indicated that it was ready to file a complaint. The bus was removed from the tracks. The driver will be taken into custody. He could be indicted for unintentional injury.
