A man was shot and killed during the night from Thursday to Friday in the 3rd arrondissement of Marseille, franceinfo learned on Friday October 4 from a source close to the case. It concerns the driver of a car who was shot in the back of the head shortly after 4 a.m., his vehicle ended up in the wall of Saint-Charles elementary school. The police arrested a 15-year-old suspect, who according to this source corresponds to the passenger in the car that passers-by saw fleeing.
Still according to this source, the arrest of this suspect was made possible thanks to information given to a man incarcerated in a remand center. The latter called the police to indicate that the murder committed a few minutes earlier was in retaliation for the assassination of a 15-year-old teenager two days earlier on Wednesday. This detainee also told the police the identity of the alleged perpetrator, where he was and details of the weapon he had used.
This information allowed police to arrest a suspect who perfectly matched the description that witnesses had given of the passenger in the car who had fled; he was arrested a little over an hour after the incident. He is a 15-year-old minor, known to the courts. The police will now be able to use video surveillance images as part of their investigation. The Marseille judicial police have been contacted.
