(Los Angeles) The dress that singer Amy Winehouse wore at her last gig was sold for $ 243,200, or 16 times more than its estimated value, at an auction held in California.
Winehouse wore this black bamboo print dress to a concert in Belgrade in 2011.
A month later, on July 23, she died at her home in London from an alcohol overdose. She was 27 years old and had struggled with alcohol and drug addiction.
The dress sold was the most valuable item of a total of 800 – including books, DVDs – that belonged to the artist and that were offered for auction by her parents, Mitch and Janis.
Some $ 4 million were obtained at the end of the sale organized on Saturday and Sunday by Maison Julien.
