The draft Social Security budget for 2024 was adopted on Tuesday, November 21 by senators, by 184 votes to 108. The text was accompanied by several measures aimed at challenging the government.
Among them, the rejection of the 2024-2027 financial trajectory, the decision to postpone the reform of hospital financing, measures aimed at strengthening the fight against social fraud, or even the establishment of a “rabbit tax” to fight against unfulfilled medical appointments. These proposals will nevertheless have little chance of being retained by the government after article 49.3 triggered by the executive in the National Assembly on October 31.
