The diver will open the next Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma





The plungerthe sixth feature film by director Francis Leclerc, will be the opening film of the 41are Rendez-vous Quebec Cinema (RVQC).


The film will premiere on February 22 at Théâtre Maisonneuve in Place des Arts. It will then hit theaters across Quebec on February 24.

Adapted from the novel of the same name by Stéphane Larue, The plunger tells the story of Stéphane, 19, a metal fan and graphic design student who dreams of becoming an illustrator, but who has been sinking for months into his gambling addiction. In debt, without an apartment and avoiding his friends to whom he owes money, Stéphane finds a job as a dishwasher and discovers the hectic life of a restaurant as the holidays approach and its gallery of characters.

The actor Henri Picard appears in his first leading role in the cinema, alongside Charles-Aubey Houde, Maxime De Cotret, Joan Hart, Fayolle Jean Jr, Robin L’Houmeau, Marie-Ève ​​Beauregard and Jade Charbonneau.

“Francis Leclerc signs a most striking adaptation, transporting us in an immersive way into the world of gambling addiction and behind the scenes of catering. With a Montreal winter backdrop, the film is also ideal for opening our festival, which is returning to its traditional winter dates, ”said Quebec Cinema General Manager Sylvie Quenneville in a press release.

The 41e edition of Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma will take place from February 22 to March 4.
