In the surroundings of Kiev, the resistance is organized against the Russians. In some villages, the inhabitants still present there live cut off from the world, and lack everything.
Whatever the risks, Brovary (Ukraine), Sacha Serputko loads the cars for the others, with cakes, soups and some basic necessities. “It is the homeland. In the current situation, I always think of my comrades who are cold in the trenches”, he confides. He drives to his native village, Rusaniv (Ukraine). The area is surrounded by Russian tanks. Before arriving at his destination, he fell on the way to a warehouse of frozen products, hit on Saturday March 12.
Every day, a woman prepares a hot meal for the Ukrainian soldiers. Of the 500 inhabitants, there are only 100 left. A family’s building was hit by gunfire. Since the beginning of the war, they have been living in the basement, without water, electricity or heating. “Look at us, there’s no help, and I need medicine”cries a woman. “I survived WWII. Putin is worse than Hitler”, adds a man. In the icy cellar, an old woman is motionless, alone in a bed. Rusaniv was hit everywhere, from farms to homes to schools.
