The France Télévisions team thus met a couple who received, from their neighbour, an site heater mounted on a gas bottle. In their house, it is 13°C. Ironically, their new heater cuts out as soon as it gets too cold.

A heat pump that breaks down regularly

Three years ago, however, they bet on a state-of-the-art device to replace their gas boiler. Their heat pump, a kind of big fan, is coupled with all the machinery in the basement. But the company would have done poorly, and left behind apparent leaks. Thus, the heat pump regularly breaks down. However, everything seemed promising when a heating company approached them. The latter would have first dangled them a check for 4,800 euros in reimbursement from the State. Today, not only is their heating broken, but they haven’t received a penny of public assistance.
