Renaissance elected officials were taken by surprise by the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly. Éléonore Caroit, outgoing Renaissance MP for the second constituency of French people established outside France, spoke on this subject on the 19/20 info set.
How did the Renaissance deputies experience the rout of their party in the European elections? For Éléonore Caroit, outgoing Renaissance MP for the second constituency of French people established outside France, “it was expected, we had all seen the polls” of this campaign which she describes as “form of campaign against the government”. The outgoing elected official nevertheless says she was “surprise” by the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly. “I understand now after explanations that it was necessary”she assures.
For Éléonore Caroit, the dissolution had “a virtue of clarifying political life”, taking as an example the rallying of Éric Ciotti, president of the Republicans, to the National Rally. Faced with the confusion of certain voters, Éléonore Caroit insists that“we must choose moderate people, ready to compromise, ready to work together.” She also says she hopes that LR elected officials will find their “common sense” by refusing the alliance with the RN, just like socialist and environmentalist deputies who would leave “an alliance with LFI.”
