The director of the Pierre-Brossolette school in Valence is being prosecuted for possession and complicity in drug trafficking after failing to notify the police that drugs had been found in the establishment, the public prosecutor confirmed to France Bleu Drôme Ardèche on Friday 12 July.

A municipal agent employed by the school discovered several small packages giving off the smell of cannabis on March 25. This agent then informed the head of the establishment, who, instead of notifying the police and his superiors as required by the code of criminal procedure, stored the merchandise in his office, then gave it the next day to a young man who had entered the establishment to claim it.

The director confirmed the facts during his hearing by the police, considering that it was not necessary to warn them since the municipal agent had himself warned his superiors of his discovery. The head of the establishment has been suspended, the academy confirmed to France bleu. He has been summoned to appear in court on prior admission of guilt next December.
