After the box of the star Academy in 2023, TF1 launches a new season of telecrochet on November 4, still hosted by Nikos Aliagas. And while fans are still mourning the departure of dance teacher, Yanis Marshall, against his will, Star Ac director Michael Goldman has revealed what convinced him to return.
“A real gap among the boys” compared to 2022
Co-founder of the MyMajorCompagny label, among others, and son of the illustrious Jean-Jacques Goldman, he explained during the press conference that this year’s level would be well above last year. He who admits “I’m not really one to throw myself into things blindly” thought carefully and allowed himself to be convinced by the 16 new academicians, who alone “makes the difference”, he said.
During preparation, Michael Goldman reveals: “There were more people, the level was quite high. There is a real gap among the boys.” And for good reason, he explains, last year they were less well represented, since “it was complicated to find young guys who sang pop and variety in 2022.”
Now the boss is happy: “I don’t know if it’s the ‘Star Academy’ or the spirit of the times but there is a real movement. There are lots of guys who came saying ‘I want to sing variety because it’ is that what I like’. I found it super interesting. I was surprised by the level of the guys. They surprised us, they are very good“.
“If I don’t go…”
And that’s not all, the one who revealed Grégoire and Joyce Jonathan in particular admits that he received very kind messages all year long which warmed his heart. Congratulated by many French people, he said: “If I don’t go, it’s like an appointment that I dishonor.”
