This Thursday, the diplomatic press association awarded the 2023 Diplomatic Press Prize to Jean-Sébastien Soldaïni, senior reporter in the international editorial staff of Radio France, editor-in-chief of the franceinfo morning show. He was rewarded for his series of reports on the elections in Turkey carried out in May, notably this subject for France Culture entitled: “On the shores of the Black Sea, stronghold of supporters of “Tayyip”.

This prize, awarded each year, “is intended to crown the best coverage of international political subjects (articles of insight or analysis, investigations or reports) produced by a journalist holding a professional press card”explains the diplomatic press association.

The prize, amounting to 2,000 euros, will be awarded in January at the Quai d’Orsay to Jean-Sébastien Soldaïni, in the presence of the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna when she will present her greetings to the press.

Jean-Sébastien Soldaïni reacted on X (formerly Twitter), saying “very honored to receive the 2023 prize from the Diplomatic Press Association”. He thanks “the jurors for their vote“, but also Radio France and the international editorial staff for their “trust”. “Thanks to the indispensable İsmet Akça”the fixer and interpreter who accompanied Jean-Sébastien Soldaïni during these reports in Turkey and also Romain Luquiens for the technical part.
