The series will open with a “historic” concert under the direction of conductor emeritus Zubin Mehta. The latter will conduct two outstanding works by Wagner, in addition to the Symphony No. 4 of Brahms. Available from February 15 until March 8.
Appointed music director of the OSM at just 24 years old, Zubin Mehta left his mark on the history of this orchestra. The maestro returned to Montreal for a concert captured on February 5, 60 years after leading the OSM on its first international tour.
In addition to Maestro Mehta, the OSM will offer the concert Slavic accents, from the Maldau to the Balkansconducted by conductor Xian Zhang, with works by Dvořák and Smetana, as well as two concerts under the direction of Rafael Payare, online later in the spring.
