In Moscow (Russia), the French government promises to support all French companies that will be impacted by the war in Ukraine. 500 companies work in Russia, including 35 from the Cac 40.
Will the French giant Total Energies be able to stay in Russia? In recent days, other oil companies have decided to withdraw from the country after the offensive in Ukraine. This Tuesday, March 1 in the morning, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, warned the French oil company: “I consider that there is now a problem of principle in working with any personality close to Vladimir Putin.”
For its part, Renault, the country’s leading manufacturer, closed its factory in Moscow for lack of parts. French companies established in Russia experienced a dark day on the stock markets. The course of Société Générale collapsed by more than 9%. That of Engie fell there by more than 13%.
