The death toll rises in eastern Libya day after day. “There are nearly 11,300 deaths from the floods according to the Libyan Red Crescent, to which must be added 10,000 missing people and thousands of injured. The needs are colossal and that is why French Civil Security has been activated all night to set up his field hospital as quickly as possible, around ten white tents connected to each other“, explains Ben Barnier, live from Derna (Libya).
A cholera epidemic is feared
“Everything is designed as best as possible to accommodate patients. Emergency room, infirmary, and a day hospitalization room have been set up. A space will also be reserved for contagious patients because there is fear of a cholera epidemic here. The first patients should report to the field hospital in the afternoon”specifies the journalist.
