A school was converted into a refuge. It is home to 760 residents who receive one meal per day. “Even counting the food stocks we had in anticipation of disasters, it is not enough”, says Shinshichi Izumiya, manager of an accommodation center. Added to this is the lack of water and electricity, but also fatigue. Thursday evening, hundreds of firefighters remained mobilized in this city where 90% of the houses were uninhabitable.
