Anger is brewing in Israel against Benjamin Netanyahu, after the announcement of the deaths of six hostages. A section of Israeli society accuses the Prime Minister of having abandoned the captives.

Cries of anger and tears in the streets of Jerusalem (Israel), in front of the office of Benjamin Netanyahu. Families of hostages learned, on the night of Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 1, of the death of ten captives in Gaza. They are four men and two women, aged 23 to 32, kidnapped alive during the attack of October 7.

“They were abandoned, again and again”shouts Ela Ben Ami, the daughter of a hostage still in Gaza. “I hope my father is strong enough, that he survives, and that we will be able to get her out. For now we are only bringing back bodies, this cannot continue.”she confides. According to the Israeli army, the hostages were executed before its intervention near the Rafah tunnels (Gaza Strip). Their deaths date back less than three days. Hamas, for its part, mentions Israeli bombings.

The protesters no longer believe in their Prime Minister’s willingness to negotiate. “Our government does not make it a priority to bring our hostages back alive. It only talks about war, only war.”laments Lee Siegel, the brother of a hostage.
