“I think it will come out very quickly”, declared Thursday January 4 on France Inter the Minister Delegate in charge of Industry, Roland Lescure, regarding the decree specifying the new scale of the ecological bonus, for the purchase of new electric vehicles. Between Christmas and New Year, the government indicated that it was seriously considering lowering it from 5,000 to 4,000 euros, for the wealthiest households. Since then, the publication of this decree in the Official Journal has been awaited.

He “being finalized”assures the minister. “There is still a fairly technical debate on whether or not three-wheeled scooters should be affected by this ecological bonus. We are in the process of finalizing that”, he adds. For him, “the main thing is that today, when you buy an electric vehicle made in Europe, and particularly made in France, you benefit from the ecological bonus”.

Conversely, “when it is done at the end of the world, in countries where the carbon footprint is degraded, you do not benefit from it”. “It’s common sense, but it was not yet at work”, he emphasizes. Indeed, “Last year, we spent roughly a billion euros of public money to finance purchases of electric vehicles. It worked, almost 20% of vehicles purchased in France were electric, but sending 300 million euros at the end of the world”.
