The Death Stranding video game will be adapted into the cinema

(Tokyo) The Hit Video Game death stranding will be adapted to the cinema, confirmed Friday its creator, the Japanese Hideo Kojima, whose company will co-produce the film.


US production company Hammerstone Studios will make the film with Kojima Productions, which on Friday tweeted an article from film-focused web magazine Deadline about the project.

Hideo Kojima also posted about the article, in which he said he couldn’t “be more excited about this new partnership.”

death stranding is set in a post-apocalyptic future where the United States is no longer united and a strange rain is accelerating aging.

Actors Norman Reedus, from the television series The Walking Deadand Lea Seydoux and Mads Mikkelsen are set to star in this adaptation.

Also author of the game series Metal GearKojima launched his own studio seven years ago, after leaving game maker Konami.

On his Twitter profile, he says: “70% of my body is made up of movies”.
