The daughter of Richard Martineau and Nathalie Collard victim of a gratuitous attack in the metro

Only a few hours after the savage attack on a homeless person by four young people at the Lionel-Groulx metro station in Montreal, another attack took place in the same station.

“Thank you to those who helped her get back up,” said M.me Collard, who nevertheless deplores the lack of security in the Montreal metro.

“No security guard in sight in this huge station,” she decried.

In response to an Internet user who advised avoiding the metro at the end of the evening, the columnist replied: “That’s the problem. I love my metro. I don’t want it to become a stopgap for those who have no choice. I want it to be safe so that we can use it safely at all times.”

For his part, columnist Richard Martineau learned of his daughter’s savage attack during a break from his show on Qub radio.

“Insecurity in the metro has become a personal matter,” he commented on the air.

In 2023, 600 violent events were reported in the Montreal metro, compared to 742 the previous year.
