(FRANCE 2)

The two daughters of one of the women who accuses Abbé Pierre of sexual violence recount the abuse the priest allegedly subjected her to in 1989 and 1990, in an apartment to which he had the key. An exclusive testimony collected by France Télévisions.

Their mother allegedly experienced an ordeal inflicted by Abbé Pierre. The two sisters wish to remain anonymous, but were keen to testify. France Télévisions collected their story. They learned their mother’s story in 2019, after her death, after she had testified to the commission on sexual abuse in the Church. In her letter, she denounced Abbé Pierre.

In her letter, which the two young women read aloud, their mother denounces “sexual abuse” from the priest that she would have suffered “in 1989 and 1990”She had just fled her violent husband, finding herself destitute and without resources. “Knowing Abbé Pierre personally, she asked him for help”explains one of his daughters.

The priest, then aged 77, is said to have asked their 33-year-old mother for sexual compensation. “It quickly went from charitable assistance to sexual abuse”wrote their mother. “He took me to a Parisian apartment to which he had the key.”the mother continues to say in this letter. “He masturbated in front of me, asked me to give him blowjobs, whipped me with his belt”relates the alleged victim. His two daughters hope for prosecution and the collective desacralization of the figure of the abbot.
