The creations of Miss Tarlatane in Parthenay

Marion Simonet remembers very well that at the age of 4-5, her passion was to sketch dressed women. So much so that his parents decided to enroll him at the age of 7 in plastic art school. She had fun there until she was 14 and learned the different techniques: she did oil painting, watercolour, pastel and engraving.
After her baccalaureate, she alternately studied fashion designer in Paris, which allowed her to make her first clothes and set up on her own in Poitiers. She names her company “Miss Tarlatan”, a very loose-fibre cotton fabric from India.

Marion Simonet quits making to return to her first love: drawing. Six years ago, she rediscovered pencil and brush to work on canvas, paper or porcelain.
She affirms her style with a small female character with a round head and big eyes on the sides. A fine line, a bit childish, full of poetry. The charm operates whatever the medium. Marion Simonet certainly does canvases, but she also paints on tableware.

It is a unique work, handmade, beautiful and utilitarian at the same time. She also works her character in 3 D in different rural environments. She loves to hunt for old objects like old ladles or old tartlet molds to install her character.

Marion Simonet also works to order. She sells her works online and in several artisan shops:
