The Limoges Court of Appeal confirmed, on Wednesday March 13, the 42-month prison sentence imposed at first instance in February 2022 on Sébastien Buisson, reports France Bleu Limousin. He was retried for aggravated breach of trust in the Red Noses affair. The former president of the association had embezzled 243,000 euros in donations to the detriment of sick children. The court of appeal also issued an arrest warrant against him.
Sébastien Buisson was found guilty of aggravated breach of trust to the detriment of the association he chaired. The facts were discovered six years ago, he embezzled 243,000 euros between 2014 and 2018. This money was to be used to support and entertain hospitalized children. The man had squandered the money on nightclubs, hotels and shopping sprees. He ended up admitting the facts in September 2023 through his lawyer.
This Wednesday, the Limoges Court of Appeal also confirmed the first instance sentence handed down against Sébastien Buisson in another case of passive influence peddling. This time he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison. In 2021, he attempted to bribe a man posing as a magistrate, with the aim of having cases in which Sébastien Buisson may be involved dismissed.
