Spectacular cold hits the United States. While the east of the country is covered in snow, wind and ice are rampant in other states. Temperatures sometimes drop to -35°C.
On the shores of Lake Michigan in the United States, time seems to have stopped on a pier. Houses were trapped by the cold and frost. Petrified, the current has turned into ice, and only hundreds of frozen blocks remain. “We can just watch and pray.”, summarizes a woman, worried. The cold is so bitter that it bursts the pipes. The temperature sometimes reaches -35°C.
In the East, the snow covered everything
Trees sometimes even collapse on houses. In the east of the country, snow covered everything. “I don’t want my roof to collapse. There’s too much weight on it.”, explains a man, shovel in hand. Due to the wind, a small plane had to make an emergency landing on the highway. A dog saved his master stuck in a frozen lake. He was taken out of the water and brought to safety.
