This African country intends to be at the forefront of the ecological transition: Kenya has managed to produce 90% of its energy using renewables.

In the middle of the savannah, hundreds of thousands of brand new solar panels. The site was inaugurated it less than two years ago. Kenya now has around ten sites like this. Solar energy has profoundly transformed the country. In total, there are millions of Kenyans connected to this solar electricity. But Kenya goes even further: the country is one of the world leaders in geothermal and hydroelectricity, not to mention wind power.

90% of national electricity


Thanks to these investments, nearly 90% of national electricity is generated by these green energies. In some schools, students have lessons dedicated to the environment. The Kenyan government is keen to instill good habits in new generations. Schools also organize field trips, where students plant hundreds of trees.
