After a first failed attempt earlier this week, NASA is to launch its Artemis mega-rocket into space, heading for the Moon. Journalist Loïc de la Mornais was live from Cape Canaveral (Florida, United States) in the 13 Hours to detail the final preparations.
Second test for the Artemis rocket, which experienced a technical problem on Monday August 29, canceling the launch. “Everyone here hopes that this second attempt will be the right one. In any case, NASA has given the green light, the countdown will resume and the filling of the tanks of the mega-rocket has just begun. This mega-rocket when it will take off, it will be the most powerful, ever launched by Man, the equivalent of about thirty Boeing 767 or A380 at take-off“, says Loïc de la Mornais.
A first step towards the return of Man to the Moon, the ultimate project of the Artemis mission. “It’s a great new day for science, for exploration. This first automatic flight of Artemis, without astronauts, will pave the way for the great Artemis 3 mission scheduled for 2025, which will see a woman set foot on the Moon for the first time. We will be together, on the antennas of France Télévisions, until takeoff, tonight 8:17 p.m. very precise“, adds Loïc de la Mornais. See you in the Journal de 20 Heures for this take-off.
