Supporters of three Ligue 1 clubs will be able to travel this weekend, according to the National Supporters Association. The orders prohibiting PSG supporters from going to Lille, Reims from going to Lens and Nice from going to Le Havre were suspended by the Council of State.

On the other hand, the orders concerning the movement of Brestois to Nantes and Rennais to Toulouse are maintained, because they were not affected by the referral to the National Supporters Association, even if it also considers these bans as “illegal”.

When contacting the Council of State, the association explained that it hesitated, being sorry to call on it “for the 3rd time in a week”, after the contestation of the orders banning the movement of Ligue 1 supporters last weekend, and of the Sevillians in Lens in the middle of the week.

The ANS justifies its decision by “conviction that in the absence of referral to the judge, our inaction would be understood as a validation of these practices, and a normalization of these police measures which, in essence, must remain exceptional”specifying that “the Council of State has already issued two orders placing the cursor of the attack on the fundamental freedoms of visiting supporters.”

She admits to having “awareness of the tragedy that occurred in Nantes at the beginning of December, and understand the need for public authorities to intervene”specifying however that “the generalization of total and absolute banning measures, affecting 99% of blameless people, obliges us to ask the Council of State to assess the legality of the State’s decisions.”
