Since the result of the municipal elections in Annecy on June 28, 2020, the soap opera agitated the political community on the shores of the lake. It is now finished. The Council of State rejected Thursday the appeal for annulment filed by the former centrist mayor Jean-Luc Rigaut, who contested his defeat for 27 votes in the second round.
The highest French administrative court therefore confirms the ecologist François Astorg in his chair as mayor. “I’m happy, it’s a good end of the year, rejoiced the latter. I do not know who would have understood that after a year and a half we are replaying the elections. ”
An expected decision
This decision is not much of a surprise. The Council of State followed the recommendations of the public rapporteur made on November 30, a few months after a first rejection of the appeal by the administrative court of Grenoble. The outgoing mayor, at the head of Annecy from 2008 to 2020, assures since the outcome of the poll that proxies were not taken into account.
This decision of the Council of State clarifies things. This judgment is final. “- François Astorg
Contacted this Thursday evening by France Bleu Pays de Savoie, Jean-Luc Rigaut did not react to the decision of the Council of State.
