The Constitutional Council specified, Friday, January 7, the definition of a narcotic product, which is characterized by a “risk of dependence” and “adverse health effects”. Something to give hope to professionals in the sector of CBD who estimate that products based on cannabidiol, including the flower, do not fall into this category.
These two criteria “essential (…) fill a void left by the law”, analysis for AFP Yann Bisiou, lecturer at the University of Montpellier and founder of the L630 association which defends a reform of public drug policies in France. From now on, “we will argue that these criteria are not met regarding CBD”, he assures, specifying that the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) or the World Health Organization (WHO) converge towards an absence of risks of the molecule.
