Defending in particular the “conservation of France as a civilization”, this movement believes that it will no longer be able to defend its line within the Republicans.
The lines move to the right. After the designation of Valérie Pécresse as the Republicans’ presidential candidate, the Conservative Movement (formerly Sens commun), associated with LR, announced, Saturday, December 4, her departure from her political family. “We have made the choice to get involved alongside Eric Zemmour for this presidential campaign”, declared the president of the movement, Laurence Trochu, on franceinfo.
The Conservative Movement, from the ranks of opponents of marriage for all, partly justifies this rallying to Eric Zemmour by the defeat of Eric Ciotti, who was the LR candidate “the least distant from our priorities”, like the “conservation of France as a civilization”. From now on, “Eric Ciotti is an isolated man” within the future team of Valérie Pécresse, estimates Laurence Trochu. The latter announces that she will be present alongside Eric Zemmour, Sunday, in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis), for his first meeting as a declared candidate.
