Jean-Phillipe Mesmain realizes a dream by opening the Comédie de Périgueux, the first café-théâtre in the department. This theater professional who has worked extensively in the Bordeaux region is a lover of Périgord. “I’ve been coming on vacation to Brantôme or Sarlat for years. “It’s a dream to associate this region that I adore and to come and create the only café-théâtre and the only place entirely dedicated to humor in this department,” he says.
Opening on Friday November 4
For the opening of the room, this Friday, November 4, 2022, Jean-Philippe Mesmain bought the rights to the play “It’s decided, I’m becoming a bitch!” by Elise Ponti. This piece was a huge success at the Avignon Festival. Jean-Philippe will direct it and adapt it with actors from the region.
Open stage evenings
Jean-Philippe Mesmain has many projects for this new place dedicated to humor. He hopes to launch next year a “comedy club” every Thursday evening with Perigord artists and also allow people to go on stage for the first time.
Headliners
Next year “The comedy of Périgueux” will welcome the Marseille comedian Zize, Guillaume Bats, Eric Callado, former member of Nous c nous alongside Jean Dujardin.
