The president of the French Football Federation had already announced the color a few days ago to AFP. It is now official. The coach of the Bleues, Corinne Deacon, was renewed, Tuesday August 2, until the Olympic Games in Paris (July 26-August 11, 2024).

After the elimination in the semi-finals of the Euro in England against Germany (2-1), Corinne Deacon, who will celebrate her 48th birthday on Thursday, will therefore lead the France team at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, then at the 2024 Olympics. At the head of the France team since August 2017, the former international (121 selections) has the mission of bringing a first international title to French women’s football.
“I am happy and proud to continue the adventure with the French team for these two additional seasons which are bound to be very rich with a competition each year.“, said the coach in a press release, acknowledging a “disappointment“compared to the Euro, however”encouraging“for the sequel.
For his part, Noël Le Graët said to himself “delighted that Corinne accepted the challenge“. The president of the FFF has defended his coach in recent years when Corinne Deacon has made strong choices, even if it means alienating certain players.”We share the same strong ambition for these two major competitions“, explained the Breton leader, who had set Deacon the objective of the semi-finals at the Euro.
In England, the French women’s team reached the last four of a major competition for the first time since the London Olympics in 2012. In 2019, Corinne Deacon and Les Bleues stopped in the quarter-finals of the Coupe of the world in France. They also failed to qualify for the Tokyo Games.
