The soap opera is over. Seized by Bordeaux, the CNOSF delivered its opinion and ratified, Tuesday, June 27, the decision of the LFP disciplinary committee not to replay the meeting between the Girondins and Rodez, counting for the last day of Ligue 2 2022- 2023. The League had decided to grant victory on the green carpet to Rodez, on June 12, ten days after the match, which had been stopped because of the aggression of the Ruthenian striker, Lucas Buades, by a Bordeaux supporter.

“The club accepts this decision from the reference body for French sport, which it had seized without going through the usual appeal stages, with the aim of obtaining a final decision as soon as possible, taking into account the off-season calendar constraints”, reacted the Girondins in a press release. With this decision, the rise of FC Metz in Ligue 1 and the relegation of Annecy to National are also confirmed.

The club nevertheless described the decision as“unfair” and of “disproportionate”and that “results in the implementation of sporting sanctions straddling two seasons”, since the CNOSF also confirmed the withdrawal of a firm point for the 2023-2024 financial year. Before ensuring focus “on the preparation of its Ligue 2 BKT season while reserving the right to continue the other procedures in progress to shed full light on the events of June 2”. FCGB President Gérard Lopez had notably lodged a complaint against the supporter who committed the violence.
