The CNESST will refine its actions and training regarding sexual harassment in the workplace.
Several measures have been and will be deployed, such as ongoing training for workers on sexual violence in the workplace, improvement of the complaint handling process and collaboration with the Juripop organization.
The Minister of Labor, Jean Boulet, made the announcement on Monday in Montreal, alongside the President and CEO of the Commission for Standards of Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST), Manuelle Oudar, and the general director of Juripop, Me Sophie Gagnon.
These measures follow the report entitled “Ending sexual harassment in the workplace: giving ourselves the means to act”, which was made public in May.
The CNESST affirms that 90% of the 82 recommendations in the report have already been implemented or will be implemented this year.
Already last year, 18 counselors had been hired to deal with psychological health in the workplace and this included the various forms of violence and harassment. Also, six compensation agents will be able to guide victims who need support in this area.
