The club ordered to pay nearly two million euros to Eduardo Macia

This is one of the club’s old files dating from the very turbulent GACP / King Street era, the two former American investment funds owners of the Girondins de Bordeaux from 2018 to 2021. The team reveals this Tuesday morning that the Marines and Blanc were sentenced on September 16 by the Bordeaux industrial tribunal to pay nearly two million euros to their former sports director, Eduardo Macia. Information that France Bleu Gironde is able to confirm.

Dismissed for serious misconduct in July 2020, the Spaniard won his case at first instance. The Girondins de Bordeaux have already appealed. A suspensive appeal. Eduardo Macia, who passed through Valencia, Olympiakos, Fiorentina, Betis Seville and even Leicester, arrived at the club in February 2019 before being fired a little over a year later, particularly after a complaint from a agent against him for “illegal exercise of the profession of sports agent” and “organized gang scam” in the case of Naoufel Khacef’s loan to the Girondins de Bordeaux. A complaint closed without further action by the Parquet de Bordeaux.

“Very happy that my reputation is preserved”

For the industrial tribunal, there was therefore no serious misconduct on the part of the new sports director of Spezia (Italy). After this decision, Eduardo Macia confides his first reaction to France Bleu Gironde: “The Labor Court finally ruled that I had been unjustly dismissed – neither serious misconduct, nor even for real or serious cause – I am simply very happy that my reputation is preserved and my professionalism recognized!” He adds :

I have absolutely no grudge against the club to which I wish to find the elite of French football as soon as possible.
