The G20 summit opens in Rome, Italy, this Saturday, October 30. Before COP26, heads of state and government must discuss climate issues in particular. Live from the Italian capital, journalist Guillaume Daret takes stock of the challenges of this summit.
The Group of Twenty summit takes place from this Saturday, October 30 in Rome, Italy. “The first central issue is the climate, the environment. It will be at the heart of all discussions here in Rome even before the start of the COP26 to be held in Scotland”, underlines journalist Guillaume Daret, live from the Italian capital in the 13 Hours newspaper.
“The second issue is global health with the donation of vaccines to southern countries to avoid a global epidemic resumption. […] Symbolically, caregivers joined the heads of state and government for the traditional family photo “, continues the journalist from France Télévisions. And to add: “the third issue, economic recovery and better regulation of digital giants. This type of summit also allows Emmanuel Macron to increase bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts”, concludes Guillaume Daret.
