the classification and the results of the 14th day

During this 14th day of Ligue 1 football, Paris SG took a five-point lead at the top of the French Championship by winning without shining in Lorient (2-1), allowing Monaco, winner 2-0 to Toulouse, to overtake the Bretons in the standings. In closing, OM put an end to a nasty pass by winning (1-0) against Lyon.

Troyes-Auxerre (1-1)

Friday evening, Troyes and Auxerre left on a draw in the opening match of the 14th day. Bruno Irles’ men were however off to a good start in this meeting. Rony Lopes took advantage of superb work from Mama Baldé to open the scoring in the 28th minute. Entering the hour mark, Gaëtan Perrin equalized at the end of the game, well served by Lassine Sinayoko (86th). Troyes concedes a 5th draw this season and has not won since six matches in the league (2 losses, 4 draws).

Ajaccio-Strasbourg (4-1)

A crazy first half. Saturday afternoon, AC Ajaccio overthrew Strasbourg
at the François-Coty stadium. Racing was yet very well entered
in his meeting with the opener of the score of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde on a direct free kick. For the ACA, everything accelerated in the last quarter of an hour of the first act with four achievements in 15 minutes.

A match tarnished by clashes in Ajaccio
, in which thirteen people were slightly injured. Shortly before the match, Alsatian supporters were targeted by smoke bombs
launched by ultras from the Corsican club. At the exit of the stadium, the same Alsatian supporters were escorted by the police but continued to be targeted by projectiles and smoke bombs. Among the thirteen wounded, there are four police officers and three gendarmes. The Ajaccio prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for aggravated violence.

Angers-Lens (2-1)

Imperturbable second, the Racing Club de Lens handed Angers their sixth defeat in a row
. As often in recent weeks, the RCL won by a short head, jostled at the end of the meeting by the Angevins. But the SCO goal scored by Miha Blazic (87th) arrived a little late and the Sang et Or kept up the pace, confirming that they were the only ones, currently, able to follow the dynamics of the Parisians.

Lorient-PSG (1-2)

PSG, without Lionel Messi preserved for inflammation of the Achilles tendon, still have counted on Neymar to win in Lorient
the surprise team of this Ligue 1 season. The Brazilian, “irreproachable” since the start of the summer according to his coach Christophe Galtier, scored his 11th goal of the season (9th) before offering an assist to Danilo Pereira (81st), his 9th since the opening of the French Championship. “Our salvation came from the desire of the players to seek victory”, admitted Galtier, without concealing a certain “restraint” observed among the candidates for a selection for the World Cup-2022, which begins in two weeks. Paris regains a five-point lead in the standings over Lens, winner on Saturday in Angers (2-1). Lorient (27 points) slipped to 5th place after this second defeat in a row.

Toulouse-Monaco (0-2)

It is the third consecutive victory in all competitions for Monaco which has clearly dominated Toulouse
. After a first period during which Maxime Dupe delayed the inevitable for a long time, it was Aleksandr Golovin who first deceived the Toulouse goalkeeper with a superb fine shot from outside the area. On the hour mark, it was Breel Embolo who doubled the lead for Monaco on a serve from Minamino to shelter his team because the Toulouse pushed to come back but Nubel was decisive on the rare balls which are reached him.

Reims-Nantes (1-0)

Nantes, reduced to 10 and tired by their Europa League match on Thursday in Greece (2-0 victory against Olympiakos), was beaten by Reims
and is only one point ahead of the red zone. The expulsion of Nicolas Pallois, shortly before the hour mark, changed the game and precipitated the Canaries to their sixth defeat of the season in the league.

Nice-Brest (1-0)

OGC Nice, a candidate like Monaco for European places but much less prominent at the start of the season, has continued its revival
by winning against Brest thanks to Gaëtan Laborde, who deflected a shot from Sofiane Diop. The Niçois take 9th place with this second success in a row.

Clermont-Montpellier (1-1)

Tied on points with Nice, Clermont (10th) for his part missed an important opportunity to give himself some air by conceding a draw against Montpellier
(1-1): the Auvergnats can blame themselves for having missed two penalties.

Lille-Rennes (1-1)

Dominated by unlucky Lille residents (like last weekend in Lyon), the Bretons saved the furniture
by snatching the point of the draw (1-1). Les Dogues quickly opened the scoring thanks to their captain José Fonte (16th), who took advantage of an error Steve Mandanda. But the Rennes goalkeeper made up for it by performing a heroic match, assisted by his posts on three occasions. Benjamin Bourigeaud equalized from a penalty (58th), allowing Rennes to retain their 3rd place. LOSC is 7th.

Marseille-Lyon (1-0)

After their elimination from all European competitions against Tottenham (1-2), OM raised their heads by dominating Lyon (1-0) at the Vélodrome. The only goal of the match was scored by Samuel Gigot, from a corner, just before half-time (43rd). This is only the second victory for the Marseillais in the last 16 clashes with Lyon. A success all the more precious as OM had taken only one point in the last four matches. In the standings, Marseille is 4th, Lyon remains 8th.
