Closed schools, road accidents, planes pinned to the ground … Monday, January 3, a snowstorm hit the city of Washington (United States), paralyzing the American capital.

In just a few hours, six inches of snow fell in Washington, United States on Monday, January 3. The next day, the snow plows are busy in front of the Capitol, but it is still difficult to clear a path. For tourists, the charm operates by seeing the American capital put on its beautiful white coat. “I have been at least 10 or 15 times to see the monuments of Washington, but it is a completely new experience with the snow”, marvels a tourist.

The negative temperatures caused the electric cables to freeze. 380,000 homes are still without electricity. The roads, for their part, are a real ice rink for the trucks which are embedded on top of each other because of the snow. For fifteen hours, motorists remained stranded. In airports, several dozen flights could not take off.
