Monday evening, May 9, the city of Odessa (Ukraine) was targeted by seven missiles. Among the targets of this strategic city, a shopping center. Tuesday, May 10, the soldiers and investigators went to the site of the strike which caused the death of one person and left five injured. “It was scary, there was a flash and then a huge shock wave,” testifies a resident. Russian strikes appear to be intensifying in Odessa and southern Ukraine. “We had never experienced anything like that, nor felt such fear”, describes a couple.
“There was no military infrastructure, nor an ammunition depot and there has never been one here”, assures Gennady Trukhanov, mayor of Odessa. The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, visiting Odessa on Monday May 9, had to take shelter. This escalation in strikes comes as the United States signed legislation to expedite military equipment to Ukraine.
