The town hall of Marseille announces Tuesday February 14 that it will launch a “citizen collection” from Thursday for the populations affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on Monday February 6, which killed more than 37,000 people according to a report still provisional, reports France Bleu Provence.
“As of Thursday, the town halls of the sector will be open to welcome your donations”wrote this Tuesday on Twitter the mayor of the city, Benoît Payan. “Marseille, a city of solidarity, is now sending medicines, equipment and warm clothes to the populations of Turkey and Syria”he continues.
New and packaged products
The municipality specifies that donations of warm clothing for children and adults are accepted, as well as first aid equipment, basic hygiene products. The products in question must be new and in packaging.
In a press release, the City adds that it has already sent to Turkey and Syria “more than 30m3 warm clothes, protective equipment and medicines, in particular thanks to the mobilization of the Public Assistance of Marseille Hospitals (AP-HM)”.
