After ten days of fighting, Mariupol is a strategic city for the Russian army. Bombed, bruised, besieged, this town located in the south-east of Ukraine would allow Vladimir Putin to access territorial continuity.
Around Mariupol (Ukraine), dozens of Russian tanks have been gathering for several days. Vladimir Putin’s troops are tightening their grip on the strategic city. As a convoy of journalists and diplomats pass by trying to leave the area, the tension is perceptible. Russian soldiers move into firing position. A ceasefire had been declared to allow the evacuation of the exhausted population. The Russians confirm the resumption of the offensive. With the capture of Mariupol, they would consolidate their advance in southern Ukraine. Concern is also rising in Odessa.
