In Ukraine, Vladimir Putin suffered a new snub with the recapture of the strategic city of Lyman by the forces of kyiv, just a few days after being annexed by the Russians. Journalist Ben Barnier is live from Merefa, Monday, October 3, and takes stock of the situation.
Barely annexed by the Russians, the strategic town of Lyman (Ukraine) was taken over by Ukrainian forces. “This is a strategic victory for Ukraine, since the city of Lyman is located at the crossroads of several important roads. It is also a key railway center which allowed the Russian army to carry out its supply. But this Lyman victory is also symbolic, since it is located in the Donetsk region, which was illegally annexed by Russia.”explains journalist Ben Barnier, live from Merefa (Ukraine), a town not far from Lyman, Monday, October 3.
“For the time being, it has not been possible to enter inside Lyman. (…) Some houses would still be trapped, some land would be mined. But this key Lyman victory is added to that of Izioum, earlier in September, which allows the Ukrainian authorities to announce that they have taken over several thousand square kilometers on the Eastern front for several weeks.concludes the journalist.
