The city of Les Sables d’Olonne withdraws the issue of social housing from its vote.

Are you in favor of the strict application of the SRU law which requires that the next 4,000 housing units built be exclusively social housing? At the invitation of the diverse-right mayor of the city the inhabitants of the Sands of Olonne were invited to answer 5 questions including this one from this Friday, November 18th. But at the request of the prefect of Vendée this question was withdrawn from the vote.

“We want our relations with the state to remain constructive and calm – indicates the mayor Yannick Moreau– This is why we agree to withdraw this question and hope that it leaves room for a sincere dialogue, to return to more realistic construction objectives”. The prefecture confirms for its part an official dialogue “constructive” with the town hall of Les Sables d’Olonne. The city is very behind in the construction of social housing.
