Irpin (Ukraine) located west of the country and kyiv, was taken over by the Ukrainians, assures the mayor of the city, Monday, March 28. On the road, only ambulances circulate. “We are here to evacuate the inhabitants, there are still a lot of them”, says a man. Irpin is prohibited for journalists. Civilians are evacuated on stretchers. “We couldn’t escape because it was shooting everywhere. We walked a few meters and we had to turn around”testifies a resident.
The Russian army, which had managed to enter the city, was pushed back by the Ukrainians three or four kilometers. “They were there, at the bridge, we were within range of their snipers”, shows a soldier. Among the caregivers, Nicolas, a French rescuer who came to help the Ukrainians. “Every day I wonder if I’m not going to leave. But every day, the people I transport, it gives me strength”he explains.
