The city center prohibits trucks in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon

From April 4, heavy goods vehicles over 19 tonnes are prohibited from crossing the city center as before via avenue Gabriel Péri and avenue Charles de Gaulle. Now there is more than 3 accesses to Villeneuve-Lès-Avignon for trucks: the avenue du général Leclerc which descends from the roundabout of the angles, the departmental road on the banks of the Rhône and the national 100 which arrives from the Gard.

These trucks over 19 tons now have 2 options to get out of town : take the bridge of Europe, towards Avignon or take the bridge of the Kingdom to go to the island of Barthelasse and go up to the bridge-dam of Villeneuve.

The decree does not consider all heavy goods vehicles but those over 19 tonnes, that is to say mostly trucks with trailers. Of course there is derogations for those who come to serve Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, for rescue and emergency vehicles, vehicles for municipal services, household waste collection or for public transport.
