The CISSS orders the closure of the Sages residence in Lévis

The twenty-four residents of the residence of the Sages of Lévis are forced to move. The establishment, which formerly bore the name Villa Mon Domaine, will have to cease its activities by order of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of Chaudière-Appalaches.

The closure of the establishment will be effective from May 20, confirmed CISSS spokesperson Jessica Poiré.

“The CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches does not compromise on the quality and safety of care offered to residents of private seniors’ residences,” she wrote to Duty. “This is why, despite the intensive monitoring carried out since June 2023, it had to issue a notice of revocation of the operating certificate. »

The residence located in Lévis currently has 24 residents, some of whom suffer from cognitive loss. They were made aware of the closure on April 30. The CISSS affirms that their “relocation is currently going very well”.

Joined by The duty, the owner of the residence, Christian Trottier, refused to comment on the news. Mr. Trottier acquired the residence in January 2023 for $2.5 million from the couple Natacha Gauthier and Éric Simard.

It was previously called Villa Mon Domaine and had been the subject of a series of complaints about abuses by foreign workers. In December 2023, the owners were ordered to pay fines of $2,700 for violating labor standards in 2020 and 2021.
