700,000 chronically ill without a doctor
The device is set up while the number of patients suffering from diabetes, cancers or other chronic diseases increases. “They are nearly 200,000 in the Val-de-Marne“, notes Sébastien Arnaud, deputy director of the CPAM Val-de-Marne. Health Insurance also calls on volunteer doctors, such as Dr Jonathan Yana. “We are not numerous enough on the ground to, in my opinion, cover the entire population”, he explains. In France, 700,000 chronically ill people have no attending physician.
